Prioritize
'71 Monte Carlo
Don Arnett
Summerville, GA

With two loves in your life, it can be difficult to prioritize the finances. Don Arnett started his build nine years ago, but the project car had to take a back seat to marriage and other priorities. With the build in full force now, his power of choice is a 0.030-over small-block that features a Comp XE cam and mildly ported iron heads with 1.6:1 ratio roller rockers. Up top is an Edelbrock Performer RPM manifold fed by a Predator Racing carburetor. A modified TH350 feeds the power to a 12-bolt, which houses a Powertrax unit with Richmond 3.73:1 gears. Plans call for aluminum heads and an overdrive unit.
